1 A flawed AB arena design that has never been right & never will be.
2 Titles & features that encourage Obsessive compulsive behaviour.
3 The amazing lack of adjustments regarding "Overused skills".
4 VoD being the fix for what is really an over powered healing/prot system.
5 The lack of FPS talent required.
6 They did pioneer a # of features that seem to be quality industry standards at least. They also dropped the ball on a # of them.
7 My List would be quite long. I digress.

1: Loot Scaling.
2: Certain titles that require 4 Hours of grinding per night to get half a rank (cough EotN)
3: Their bullshit approach to general customer interacction

1. No new Realms of the Gods (which we have been waiting for since Factions was announced)
2. Heroes killed what was left of the social aspect (back in 2005, every group was a pug, this is how the first guilds were formed)
3. Ridiculously underpowered and silly overpowered PvE Skills (yes, you know which one)

mistakes. hmm.
1. Assuming PvErs would begin playing PvP after finishing the PvE game. They see now this asumption was a HORRIBLE mistake.
2. OVERKILL!! seriously, too many greens and minis. Greens should be reserved to elite areas and end game. end game ones should NOT be crap, like Factions and NF endgame. A green for a quest reward?! lol, omg, just stop, ok, stop.
Minis?! there are WAY TOO MANY! they hand the damn things out like candy. Need a reward? mini!, bonus for buying magazine, MINI! enough is enough.
3. Way too easy to get max equipment. Other online games don't pamper or baby the casual, casualties. god. Casuals are buying the game(s) but they're not buying charcter slots, magazines, shirts, mousepads, mouse, or anything else you slap the GW logo on. HARDCORES ARE! casuals are not getting others into the game. HARDCORES ARE! casuals do not buy the worthless Collectors Editions, HARDCORES DO! quit holding their hands and wiping their asses for them and give US the REAL GW!

Stop saying GW is not a community-based game (MMO) and WoW does not equate ALL MMOs.
If there were no Heroes you bet there would be a tighter community looking to help each other for missions and quest. How hard was it to get someone to join your group to do the resurrrection signet in Pre-searing? If you had problems then it was rare situation because there was never a time I couldn't find a pug for resuurection sig or even the Across the Wall quest.
After Searing, I was disappointed that there were no more quest that required you to find a pug.

1) Handling of PvE skills. I dont have a problem with the concept of these skills in general. Just their crappy system of attributes/grind and overpoweredness of some, and uselessness of some.
2) Lack of real skill balance
3) Lack of difficulty in PVE

1) Grind/gold titles. Cartographer and protector, even guardian are fine, but sweet tooth, sunspear, dwarf rep, etc are NOT unless there is a means to get them without doing the same thing over and over until it is maxed.
2) Loot scaling. They should have added the report system sooner, which really resulted in a big crackdown on bots, so why punish the honest solo player now?
3) EOTN. The hall of monuments was a disappointment, the gameplay is shallow, the plot is stupid, and its full of title grind and stupid title-based PVE skills.
4) Paragon nerfing. In the motivation line in particular, which made them useless as their intended support role.

No, there wouldn't. See every poll on the issue. Most people who play with heroes would simply play with all henchmen, just like they did before heroes. PUGS = fail.
OP:
1. Directly tying power/reward in PvE to pure grind (PvE skills, Lightbringer, HoM).
2. Horrible support and public relations.
3. All "elite" areas after Sorrows Furnace.
Honorable mention: Loot scaling.
PS: A big laugh at all the *mistakes* that are what made GW a unique/good game: PvP only characters, low level cap, instances, 'nerfs', too easy to get perfect items... Did people know absolutely nothing about the game before they paid for it? Do some F'ing research.

1. Inscription system - way to kill a whole aspect of the game
2. Hard Mode golds drop rate combined with loot scaling of cash sources - way to make almost everything worthless and unsellable
3. GW:EN released far worse than advertised with no further improvements on the way - advertised 40 *new* armor sets, all those preview articles and interviews about having every one of 18 Multilevel Dungeons have Unique feeling to them (/point /laugh at the same maps being repeated 3-5 times) and overhyped HoM which turned out to be utter trash - way for Anet to lose all credibility they maintained over the years.
honorable mention: the way they did the BMP 'promotion' - doesn't need comments

Wow this is going to be an uplifting thread.. I can tell...
1) If it was a mistake making a game which has taken over the last 2 years of my life then include that.
2) If it was a mistake making a game with astounding replayability and looks gorgeous (better then most new games) then include that.
3) If it was a mistake they managed to pull off 2 other campaigns and an expansion in that time, which all had merits to them (but not perfect) then add that to the list.
...I honestly cant think of any major mistakes they made other then the BMP and how it was handled. Other issues were tiny things which mostly got fixed or dealt with.
This is honestly one of the best games, if not the best game ive ever played in my life and that is no spin or lie and im not getting paid by Gaile.

It is one of the best games, an experiment that worked extremely well. That doesn't mean there have been a few bumps along the way.
All the better we point it out so that it doesn't arise again

1 - Armor reskin. That was one of the worst things i ever saw in a game with the most stupid excuse ever to justify it.
2 - Loot Scaling.
3 - Hall of Monuments. It was a good idea, but it has a lot of flaws that ruined the purpose of it.
